Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is defined as a lack of erection of the penis during sexual arousal, or an erection that is insufficient for sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction is caused by psychological factors in approximately 40-50% of cases. Low self-esteem, work-related stress, or conflicts with a partner are common causes. The remaining 50-60% of cases are due to physical causes. Medications, vascular diseases, hormonal disorders, and neurological causes are the main causes.

The causes of erectile dysfunction are very diverse in TCM. Kidney Qi deficiency or liver Qi stagnation are usually the causes of the dysfunction. Liver Qi stasis can result from excessive stress, and the man can no longer relax properly. The treatment strategy is adapted depending on the findings.

Lack of libido

With lack of libido, the urge for sexual activity is lacking. It is usually due to psychosexual inhibition.

A lack of libido is usually the result of a deficiency in kidney qi or yang. Kidney qi and yang are the driving forces of every person and also influence their sexuality. By taking herbs and undergoing acupuncture, the kidneys can be strengthened, and libido will be regulated again.
