To successfully complete the training as a TCM therapist, an internship is required. During the internship, students are supervised and instructed in the practical application of the knowledge acquired in the completed theoretical modules.
In these modules, students are prepared for work in the practice. They are familiarized with everyday work situations, as well as with the tasks and problems involved. This enables them to competently evaluate and manage them. The goal is for students to gradually gain confidence and work routine regarding safety and efficiency in treating patients.
The internship not only offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in everyday work, but also provides an opportunity to apply the content learned in the theoretical modules in practice and thus develop competence in the knowledge acquired in school. In addition to practicing practical skills, reflection, self-observation, and critical thinking are practiced. These are important elements for every therapist.
During this phase, students are encouraged to work independently. They receive intensive support from the internship supervisor to ensure they are not overburdened and can learn optimally. Discussion and support from an experienced supervisor is the optimal way to support students in their learning and development.
The internship consists of 600 hours of practice and reflection with specific objectives for solid consolidation and deepening of the acquired knowledge. These 600 hours are divided into 3 parts:
Part | Required courses from GONG TCM or another school: |
---|---|
A: Insight into Practice Management | Fundamentals of TCM |
B: Observation of Therapeutic Practice | Students must have started a course in Acupuncture & Tuina or Chinese Medicine Phytotherapy. |
C: Transfer to own Practice | Students must have taken a course in Acupuncture & Tuina or Chinese Medicine Phytotherapy. |
Gong TCM is not only a training center, but also has several of its own practices. This allows us to easily coordinate all practices within our own company. The school supervisor and the therapist on placement, who accompanies the students, are in constant contact with each other and can jointly monitor the students’ progress. This is a major advantage over other schools, where the school and separate practices often have little contact, and the students themselves are responsible for contact with the practice. Our constellation also offers advantages from an administrative and pricing perspective. We also have a flexible offering:
- We offer parts A & B, with internships in our own outpatient practices located at various locations in Switzerland.
- Upon request, we can organize a one-month internship program with our partner institution in China. For participants without qualifications, we also organize two-week excursions to China with an introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese culture.
- We can also offer only the practical training under Parts A and/or B and/or C, parallel to the internship module offered by other schools.
Upon request, we will be happy to send you a detailed list of the courses offered and prices. Contact
